The Little Things

It’s the little things

Like the freckle on your left cheek.

The wrinkles in your nose when you laugh

The cheesy jokes you love to say

How you can’t sleep alone in the dark

The way your hips move when you dance

How beautiful you are, even when you cry

it’s so cute how you can’t say anything mean

I can’t help but smile when we talk

  1. There is something so simple and natural about this poem, how reads as if someone were musing aloud. There’s no formulaic structure, no strict schemes, and yet it feels so organically rhythmic. It’s quite beautiful, really. I’m glad to have read it. Thank you.
